Irish DJ and producer Cromby, has called Berlin home for a number of years and become a regular in some of the hottest venues and festivals across Europe. Whether Robert Johnson, Fabric or Panorama bar, listeners can always expect top drawer selections that are guaranteed to make you move.. Releasing music since 2012, he has featured on labels across the world and become globally recognized, with multiple tours across Australia, Asia and the Americas in the bag. Late 2020, also saw the launch of his own label ‘Potency’ and there are some killer tracks landing this summer, we highly recommend you checking out.

It’s time to open the windows, turn up the volume and flow in to the summer with Cromby.

Hi Chris, it’s great to have you with us. How has the recent tour around Australia and Asia gone down? Any stand out moments?

Thanks for having me! Yeah both were absolutely epic, Australia is always a vibe, and feels a bit like my second home. Really love it there and the people always give such a warm reception and make you feel welcome, they’re the best. Vietnam was another highlight, I played at Savage, a magical little club in Hanoi. Recommend anyone to check it out, it’s a vibe they’ve done a great job, lovely crew and direction.

As a regular at some of the biggest and most iconic clubs across Europe, do you see much difference with regard to musical tastes, dance-floor vibes and / or the scenes in general?

Yeah definitely, I mean for example some countries have a tendency for harder stuff, for sure. Some crowds go for it no matter what, and let you really explore whatever direction and vibe you want to go. This is the vibe I love to play.

Production wise, you have already this year, delivered a killer remix for Aldonna, what’s next for you? Any original music or remixes in the pipeline?

Thank you! I’ve no more remixes for a while after doing quite a few at the beginning of this year. I thought it would be best to take a break for a while, but… I’m working on one still for a big project that will emerge later this year.

We hear there is news from Potency headquarters too, what’s the latest on the release front? And how would you describe your vision for the label?

Yes, I have 3 new eps ready to drop on Potency, the first is out on the 26 June, then the other two will follow suit throughout the summer. For the label, I’m letting it sculpt itself, my ethos is to put out quality music for the dance floor whatever vibe that may be. If it bangs i’m down for it, also always on the lookout for new artists of a similar vibe for the label.

What can you tell us about this mix you’ve put together for us? How did you approach the mix, what kind of energy can we expect and are there any tracks or artists you would like to give a shout-out to in particular?

It was recorded on a sunny afternoon in my apartment here in Berlin. I wanted to keep it housey and feel good for the great weather we’re getting, inspired by a recent open air day party I played here in the city.

Finally, how’s the Summer shaping up for you and what else might you have in the works for 2023?
