Following a steamy Oddysee mix in 2023 we’re stoked to have Eoin back on board. Tribal Madness – DJ Miss Parker (self-released)
Completely timeless slice of NYC goodness here from Miss Parker! Dark, percussive and heavy house with some classic rave samples included for good measure. This one has been a staple in my sets over the past 6 months.
Sage Introspekt – Ha Roller (self-released)
Introspekt’s talent really knows no bounds! Her DJing and production skills are both exceptionally good and I really love the Dubz compilations she has been releasing, especially Ha Roller from the latest iteration. She draws so many styles together into one cohesive sound. One of the sweetest people in the game too, Introspekt forever!
Sister Zo – Root of Desire (Nervous Records)
I’m sure many would agree with me when I say that Carry Nation have been setting the bar for modern house music these past years with their full tilt compilations. Every track is unique and timeless but also sounds like Carry Nation. The release is mastered to perfection and sounds so good on a system- hard to pick a favourite but Root of Desire by Sister Zo has probably had the most spins from me.
Perra Inmunda, Chico Blanco, WOST – I Like It (WOST Remix) (Live From Earth)
Absolutely love Chico Blanco’s productions – he manages to capture a sultry club feel with just the right amount of pop sensibility to work on a dancefloor, crossover gold. Hard to pick a favourite remix from the original EP with Perra Inmunda but this one from Wost has been on rotation as of late. Hot stuff.
Saffron Bloom – Saffron Bloom
Still haven’t heard this album in it’s entirety but from the snippets online it’s apparent that this is the downtempo album we’ve all been waiting for. The tracks have a moody, classic, trip-hop feel with impeccable modern sound design by the hand of NYC’s Sepehr. Can see this one in the end of year lists for 2025. Big after hours tip.
Kasra V – VSION02 (V-sion)
If you’ve not entered the world of Kasra V yet then you’ve been missing out. One thing I would like to see in 2025 is more producers and DJs taking the time to hone their sound as much as Kasra has- classic, trippy, otherwordly, playful with big splashes of colour and drama across many genres. VSION02 is all this and more, cop now!
Byron Yeates- Time Machine (Cora’s 5D Mix) (Radiant Records)
Speaking of DJs and producers who have honed their sound- the latest offering from Byron Yeates’ Radiant Records is a Remix Package of the Time Machine EP released earlier in 2024. As ever, Yeate’s curation and selection is on point- there’s something for everyone here- each re-interpretation is completely unique but still sounds at home on the label and turns a dancefloor out. I’ve played the Cora remix in nearly every set over the past few months!
SISTRIX (Hannah Holland & Josh Caffe) – Cause a scene
Collab of dreams here in the form of Hannah Holland and Josh Caffe under their SISTRIX moniker. Four cuts of sexy, sultry pumping jungle and drum & bass which demonstrate the depth of Caffe’s and Holland’s range. Cause a scene is my pick from this, Hannah just does not miss as a producer or DJ and is a huge inspiration to me and many of my peers. All hail the queen.
Stefffi & Rosato – Memory Zero (Dolly)
On the topic of club royalty- the latest EP from Steffi is up there with her best work to date. Collaborating with Italian producer Rosati, the release is 5 tracks of peak time techno moods that encapsulate Steffi’s sound- classy and timeless with nods to detroit, chicago, berlin and beyond. I have to say that nearly every release on her Dolly imprint is buy on site for me too. 5 stars!
Eoin DJ – Ode to beachball
Shameless plug here but my most recent ep is finally out on Spray’s punctuality imprint. Balearic beach techno/ house whatevers, enjoy!
