Blu:sh 2500 2205 Oddysee

Blu:sh steps in our Buy Music Club series with a selection of proggy club steppers, fast-paced rave cuts and ethereal moods.

Previously known from the house and ambient centred releases on Animals Dancing and Berceuse Heroique under his Benoit B alias, Blu:sh entered the scene in style last year with an EP on Roza Terenzi’s record label; Step Ball Chain. Hitting the ground running with the new project, the extensive debut outing fuses futuristic tech territories with bass heavy goodness and rhythmic freakiness. All the ingredients for creating some intriguing and forward-thinking club workouts, we would say.

With the follow-up set to release on Kalahari Oyster Cult in October, we asked Blu:sh to give us some insight as to his favourite Bandcamp finds. Find the result below.

Asphalt DJ & Gzardin – Glow Mid (Glow Mid)
Out on the Tel Aviv based label Glow Mid. Sharp and electric grooves.

Destrata – Let the Dust Settle (SPE:C)
Such a nice blend of airy perc house and bass music. Hybridization of genres is not simple but it always bring you somewhere else when nicely done.

Chino Pacas X INVT X Octoptic X DJFD & M2 Exe X Dagga – Las Pacas (Merca Bae Blend) (N.A.A.F.I)
Mexico based Naafi, bringing unexpected and great-weird electronic music approaches.

Swooh – Say You Will (Raw)
I was first caught by the nagging and offhand vocals here. Then all the sharps sounds around it.

Mabel – Doghead Call (self-released)
Mabel is a Melbourne based dj and producer. ‘Psychedelic hypnotic bassy wubby tekno dog head’ as she describes her music. And it’s quite right. We started to make music together while she was in Berlin during the Summer. Let’s see where it will go!

CRRDR – Baila (MUAKK)
Raw and fast, the latin-tek sound coming out lately from Columbia is to me super refreshing, inspiring and always driving everyone nuts in the club!

Vani-T – Acid Bottom (Radiant Records)
Odd and pumping grooves for the after hours out on the great Radiant Love compilation.

Ciel – Free (a1) (Unknown-Untitled)
Pure and delicate vibes. A dive in the abyss.

Watching Airplanes – Drop By Drop (Banlieue Records)
Out on my label Banlieue last year, amazing floating and ethereal vibes from the duo Watching Airplanes, based between London and Vilnius.

Tlim Shug – Weakkkk (self-released)
A little guilty pleasure for the end of the Summer, yum.
