Panorama Bar regular Partok unloads a dripping hot selection of dance floor workouts.
Operating with a hefty dose of unrestricted energy, Partok has been laying down well-informed house and techno sets for the better part of two decades. Intoxicating crowds and creating dance floor unity with his timeless approach towards underground dance music from Detroit, Chicago and the early UK rave scene. Aside from being a spectacular DJ, he is the co-founder of Launderette, alongside Roi Perez and David Elimelech. The famously hot and sweaty queer party that recently hosted its first edition Panorama Bar.
As big fans, we’re honoured to have him contribute to our BMC series..; “This list features tracks that were regulars in my sets in the past year, with some focus on queer artists and labels. There are also a few all time heroes here, some of them have bandcamp pages that are real musical treasures with vast back catalogues that you should definitely explore. Enjoy! <3”

Craig Alexander – Jolly Time (Housepit Chi)
A real doozy this one and I won’t lie if I’d say I played it in all my Panorama Bar gigs last year. It keeps shifting and changing while staying in a perfect stomping groove. Always ignites the dancing divas on the floor! Much love to Craig Alexander, a Chicago pioneer that’s been around since the 80s.
OJH – I Got It (You Go Girl) (Dansa Records)
What I love about this one is that it feels ‘complete’ to begin with but 30s in, this bassline falls from the sky and stirs it all up. Dansa Records is a pretty unique house label. Many of the producers on it came from UK Rave background like Danny Weaver or Mark Archer from Altern8. The result was a rave infused NY house and I am very here for it. You go girl!
Ketiov – Like This (On Loop)
Ketiov is such a gifted producer and knows how to weave that thin line of serving old school essence in a phat crispy coat. The whole EP, which came out on Moxie‘s On Loop label, is gorgeous. A regular at our LAUNDRETTE parties.
India Jordan – Feirabend (Ninja Tune)
A secret weapon of mine for a while now, I play it at a slower pace and often mix it out of something more monotonic. When those dreamy pads and melodies kick in they bring a fresh uplifting mood while the rhythm keeps on pumping. I played it while closing Block 9’s Genosys stage at Glastonbury festival just as the sun came out in all shades of orange and it soundtracked the scene so beautifully I almost burst.
Clones – Robots
Such a good high energy edit of ‘The Robots’. Actually bought this one on Vinyl a gazillion years ago and only on bandcamp learned that this ‘Clones’ edit series I knew from back in the day is Swedish producer Pierre J.
Dj Duke – 12 Min To Do it (Sex Mania)
This DJ Duke classic goes really down & dirty with a bassline that literally swallows you whole. It can go on forever and no one will ever mind. A guaranteed floor filler and I’m pretty sure I will not stop playing this till my demise. Duke’s Bandcamp is an absolute gold mine and if you don’t find one of his records in it you can write him and he’ll upload it!
ELO – La Pampara (Mystic Bill Remix) (Major Records)
I’ve rinsed this one in & out last year, ELO aka DJ Leeon did a marvelous track to begin with and Mystic Bill did charms on the remix. It was released on Major Records, run by New York City queer royalty The Carry Nation & Justin Cudmore, with Mike Servito serving as A&R. Yes, it definitely means you should explore the entire label.
Alexis Curshé – Down South (Nervous Records)
More from The Carry Nation: Last year they dropped ‘Full Tilt Carry,’ a Nervous Records compilation packed with delicious tunes by queer talent that received widespread play. I played many tracks from it, like this beat down by Alexis Curshé. Get ready for part 2 coming soon later in the year!
DJ JM – OCDrum (Self-released)
DJ JM is a tribal specialist. This lil’ monster is maybe my fav one of his and it’s another LAUNDRETTE regular.
Dave Angle – Jungle Love (R&S Records)
I can sing praise on Dave Angel for days & days. His voice is so singular and I’m always excited when I reach out to play his music. I played at Houghton festival for the first time last year and arrived at the field super close to my set at ‘Tantrum’ stage. I felt pretty off in the first half an hour and playing this track was the moment that straightened it all up for me and I could get on my groove. So thank you Mr. Angel. There are very few R&S releases from the early 90s available digitally so it’s nice to see this one on Bandcamp.
Atom TM & Tobias – Live
As part of my lifelong quest to explore everything Atom TM ever released, I discovered this recording of a live show he did with Tobias in 1992 in Montreux and my jaw dropped. Kraftwerky hypnosis goodness. I played a solid 10m of it at a Berghain closing about an hour or so towards the end of the party. Everyone dived into themselves dancing I loved it.
Air Liquide – PT X Files 002 (Pressure Traxx)
Acid Masters Air Liquide serves a true Acid storm. Sends me back to a late morning at the beloved Blitz club in Munich where everyone absolutely lost it to this one.
Boof – Wind Tunnel
Some sorcery from Maurice Fulton from his last offering under his BOOF acronym. A great one to switch up the mood.
Marcus Mixx – The House Churn Song (Use Both Hands Mix)
Marcus Mixx Shannon is a true Chicago legend and possibly probably the cookiest character to ever come out of that scene or any scene. As one who is responsible for many of the most sought-after records from the genre’s early years, it’s pretty mad how much new music he continues to release on his Bandcamp. This track is off the hook serving some after-houry situation with Marcus “churning” on the Mic “Guess what? I’m about to burn. I’m burning, are you burning? What you doing? You know what? I like it. We all Like it”.
Musclecars – Running Out Of Time
Freshly released last month, Musclecars deliver here some sizzling drama and a gorgeous shift mid-way. J’adore. Works in a faster paste too.
Stereolab – Margarine Melodie (Elektra Records)
This Stereolab diamond became my go to ‘last song’ for many of my closings last year so it’s only fitting to close this list as well. Achingly beautiful <3
