OSSX + TAH – Bible Belt
If anyone’s name is synonymous to Bandcamp it’s OSSX. Chris & Tito (Equiss & Lektor Scopes) have been at it for a while and they always deliver, utilizing what this platform is best known for in the underground – edits. On this EP they once again teamed up w Tah = premium Jersey sounds!
xJermsx – Drugs In The Bathroom (DJ Pacifier Remix)
There’s a lot of remixes of Drugs In The Bathroom, but DJ Pacifier hits different and I can play it out!
LIL NA$$TY – Get It Up So (Riviera Records)
We (Riviera Records) are still looking for any information on LIL NA$$TY – if you have any clue about how to get in touch or who this mysterious individual is, please reach out.
Tommy Holohan & Megra – Show Me The Sky (Steel City Dance Discs)
This just had to be here as the track I probably played the most in X-Coast sets this year. Tommy is my nephew after all – who am I gonna shortlist here if not my own blood..
Fatima Al Qadiri – Hip Hop Spa
We all need more Fatima Al Qadiri in our lives. The Genre Specific Xperience EP and this era of Fatima’s opus played such a key part in summoning the X-Coast universe.
John Rolodex – Seeing Around Corners (Over/Shadow)
Thanks to DJ RaDa who made sure I don’t miss out on this. Like the description says – Canada’s breakbeat scientist. I mean Over/Shadow rarely misses, but these beats by John Rolodex are the result of a lifelong devotion to the craft. Listen to the whole thing!
Cult – Jumpin Traxx (Analytic Trail)
Cult on Markantonio’s Analytic Trail label – that’s big news on its own. Luc (Cult) sent me the Jumpin Traxx even before it was signed to the label and I was playing it quite often despite being tired of all the sampled Rap lyrics over “Hardgroove” these days – this one chopped in a unique way.
Noise Destruction – Mindscape (Trance Acid)
Noise Destruction – the fathers of the electronic scene in Serbia, also from my hometown (Novi Sad). I was raised on this shit! This track is probably not their most recognized work, but it is just wonderful – listen!
Deetron – Translate Rhythms (Mutual Rytm)
Such a clever track by a veteran here! This will be a tool for years to come – you can use it as a lil interlude in a Techno part of the set when things get too heavy, as a standalone track in a (tech)house set or even mix it in on the third deck, loop it, have fun with it.. Opens a lot of possibilities for a creative DJ..
X-Coast – Da Boing Boing Trak (Riviera Records)
Hehe, of course I had to include an X-Coast track, what did you think this was? If you haven’t heard Da Boing Boing Trak, do yourself a favor..
